We are a network that provides support to UK-based persons of Black heritage studying, working, or engaging with plant science. We aim to connect, celebrate, and cultivate UK-based Black Plant Scientists. If you have more suggestions of what this network could do for you, please fill out the survey on our contact page. Our current activities include:
CONNECT
- Provide spaces & events to share information and experiences
- Connect UK Black plant scientists to the international community
CELEBRATE
- Highlight and promote the achievements and careers of past and current Black plant scientists
- Advocate for diversity in plant science, curating lists of Black representatives and speakers
CULTIVATE
- Create a program of mentorship that improves experiences and advancement
- Conduct research and collate data on participation
- Provide opportunities to Black students and researchers to improve participation
