The second Black in Plant Science (BiPS) Conference took place on Friday 24 October 2025 @ Helix @ University of Leeds
This conference highlighted the contributions of Black researchers to Plant Science and included:
• Plenary talks (Kevin Cox from the Donald Danforth Centre, USA and Nicola Patron from the University of Cambridge, UK).
• Short talks from our 2025 BiPS Summer students and BiPS Research excellence awardees.
• A panel on ‘The Journey of Plants Though Black Botanists’
• Workshops on ‘Delivering Impact on African Crops’, ‘Culturally Sensitive Mentoring‘, and ‘Exploring Careers Beyond Academia‘.
• A poster session.
• Safe spaces for interaction and building networks.
